My wishlist!

Hello everyone!
This post is simply about things I really like/want. I hope this can help you if you're trying to find something you love!

First up is this gorgeous biker jacket from Topshop, I've been searching for the perfect leather jacket and they all seem to be so overly priced because of the real leather, but I found this on the Topshop website and just instantly fell in love with it! It's not real leather but to me that doesn't matter too much, as long as the quality is good. I think this jacket would be so wearable as it would go with just about anything. Although it's an acquired taste, I do really love the studs, I'm not always a fan but on this jacket I think they really look good as it adds a little liveliness to the jacket. At the moment it's in the sale for £40 from around £60 which I think is such a good deal and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Well I think this skirt is just adorable! It's from Topshop for £34 which personally I think is a little steep. I'm really into pastel colours at the moment and I really love skater skirts so this is the perfect combination for me. You could pair this skirt with a pretty blouse or stylish tee, and it would look fabulous! I love it.

For a while now I've been looking for a lovely, warm winter colour for my nails and I really love the dark maroon/purple colours. I've read really good reviews on all the Topshop cosmetics, especially the nail polish so I'm really willing to try this out!

This highlighter from Benefit has had really good reviews and I haven't yet purchased any highlighter. I'd really love to use this product on my cheek bones to highlight them and then contour the hollows underneath with some bronzer. Benefit is a popularly talked about brand and I've never purchased any of their products so this would be a great starter for me. (sorry for the really weird, long photo) £18.50

I've been after a really dark red lipstick but I'm not sure how much I'd wear it and if I'd suit it. I've been looking around at different cheaper lipsticks and everyone is raving about the new range of Kate Moss lipsticks from Rimmel, they have been compared to mac lipsticks (my favourite). The price of these lipsticks are £5.49 which I think is very reasonable indeed. I can't wait to try these out.

My favourite YouTube blogger (Zoella) raved about this foundation from Mac and said it leaves her skin looking flawless. I've still got a lot of current foundation left (well BB cream by no7) so after I've finished that I will.. well my mum will buy me this foundation at £24. I will be sure to review this product when I've used it a lot.

Soap and Glory.

I recently bought this soap and glory Facial Moisture Lotion, I've only used it once so far but it gave a really lovely and smooth finish with my make-up on top. All day my skin felt soft and I couldn't stop feeling it. I would definitely recommend this product especially as it has SPF 25 in so will always protect you from the sun, whatever the weather! The only negative point I would bring up is that it doesn't smell as nice as other Soap and Glory products but I think that's the fact it has SPF in it. I would definitely buy this again as it's really proving itself.

Urban Decay Palette

This is just a quick post to talk about my new amazing edition to my make-up! It's the Urban Decay naked 2 palette. The colours are really natural and great for an everyday look. They are a variety of matte, shimmery and glittery, I normally go for a matte look but the shimmer and glitter shadows are so gorgeous they've encouraged me to be a bit more adventurous. My favourite colours at the moment are booty call, a gorgeous shimmery cream/corally colour, with the shade tease, a darker grey/brown colour, that I apply in the crease of my eye to contour. I haven't had a chance to try out all the colours so I'm sure I'll get some more favourites! I really recommend this product it's so amazing and easy to apply! Also not too pricey at £34

Books!

This is just going to be a short post, as my last one was very long indeed, about a book I really recommend! It's called 'the last song' as you can see in the picture and it's such a moving story about how she falls in love and how she creates a new bond with her family. There are some happy parts and also very sad parts but the two contrast really well with each other. I started reading it last Friday and have literally not put it down since! It's also a major film, that stars Miley Cyrus who I'm a big fan of, which I also really recommend! This is a real page turner and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did!

My favourites!

Here are just a few things I favour and recommend the most out of everything in my make-up bag. Enjoy! P.s sorry about the quality of the photos!

This is no7 Beautiful skin BB cream for normal/dry skin in fair as I'm very pale. It acts as a foundation for me but is more like a tinted moisturiser. I apply it with a foundation brush so I make sure I get full coverage. It's not the best for covering up spots but I'm lucky enough not to suffer too badly with that so I wouldn't recommend it if you have trouble with spots. It's perfect for people that want a more natural look instead of a cakey/orange look but also evens the skin tone out perfectly. It's not overly expensive and is available at £12.95.

This is my only eye shadow palette and it's Revlon in shade Adventurous. I use the golden/brown (bottom left) on the main part of the eyelid, dark brown (bottom right) in the outside corner of my eyelid and the pale cream (top left) on top up to the brow bone also I sometimes use the pale cream under my eye to highlight my eye as it's not too noticeable. The colours create a very subtle look and I use them everyday as brown/golden/taupe colours make blue eyes (which I have) stand out. I recommend this product if you prefer to stay natural instead of use bright colours, but it's always good to be adventurous! It's available at £7.99 which isn't too pricey.

This is one of my absolute favourites, partly because it's MAC but mostly because it's so so good! It's in shade mocha, it's a powder blush and gives a matte finish. It's just the right shade for me (pinky/corally/peachy) as I have already have a natural blush so it's not too bright. I apply it with a blusher brush, focusing more on the apple of my cheek. I've had this products for two weeks and it still look brand new (even the pattern on the power is still there), so I have a feeling I won't be needing to top-up on that any time soon. It's not cheap but not expensive at £17.50, it's definitely worth the money!

You can't tell very well in the photo but this product is a concealer by no7 it's in shade extra fair for my pale skin and is one of the thicker textures. This is perfect for when you get those sneaky outbursts of the unexpected spot, it doesn't completely make the spot go away, but what does? It simply dulls the redness down and makes it less visible. If you get the right shade for your skin tone it blends in really well but if you get the wrong shade it can end up looking awful and making the spot even more visible than it was before, I'm speaking from experience. I apply this onto the area from the stick then gently blend it in with my finger, personally I think this is the best application technique, but whatever suits you is always best! It's very reasonable at the price of £7.00.

This small, delicate pot contains my answer to a perfect eye liner. It's in shade black by maybelline new york and comes with a brush. It's in a gel like form and there really is not a lot of it but you only need the tiniest bit ever on the brush to apply the eye liner. I use the thin nibbed brush that makes it easy to apply smoothly and create a dramatic or subtle flick. I recommend this if you have a steady hand! It's £7.99 and will last you a long time!

This is a highlighter pen by Yves Saint Laurent (ysl), it's in a pinky/cream shade to suit the pink undertones of my skin. The packaging really stands out to me as it's shiny gold but mostly the content of it is what made me buy this highlighter. I apply it under my eyes, the sides of my nose and on my brow bone to highlight the areas. It's a really nice creamy texture that slides smoothly onto the skin and blends well into the skin. I have tried cheaper versions of it by different brands but none of them have the same flawless finish. WARNING: don't apply to spots because it highlights it and makes it more visible, I've made this mistake before. It's a very pricey product but definitely worth the money at around £24.

This is my mascara and as you can tell I've had a lot of use out of it! It's by max factor and called calorie 2000. It really is amazing and you only have to apply one or two coats to get the natural finish you want. It doesn't clog or become sticky and it always lasts me a day without having to reapply. I highly recommend this product as I've had it for years and it's never failed me. I think it costs around £8 so is a very reasonable price.

I think this is possibly my most favourite item of make-up I own because it's just perfect! It's in shade 'ruby woo' by MAC and has a matte finish. It's a very bright red but also quite dark so it is an acquired taste as a lot of people don't like or don't feel confident to wear bright lipstick. It is so easy to apply and the colour is so pigmented. It's finish (matte) is sophisticated and makes your lips look fuller. I prefer this to any of my other lipsticks as they all have a glossy finish which I tend not to like as much. I recommend this to any who likes the bright look. It's not overly expensive with a price of £14.00.

My introduction.

Hello! My names Grace Pooley.
I've recently been inspired to have my own blog by some lovely people I follow on instagram, I see them regularly posting photos of their blogs, I always read the posts and find them incredibly interesting. My blog will be mainly about make-up/ fashion, I am really interested in this concept of the media industry (magazines, catwalks + make-up shows) and my future goal is to go to London College of Fashion, do a degree in prosthetics and become a successful make-up artist in London, a big dream - I know. I like to know other peoples opinions on different make-up products/items of clothing, so I'm always willing to read other peoples blogs about make-up and fashion. My number one inspiration is Camilla Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea,as she has a successful career in the make-up/fashion industry and I love everything about her!
I wouldn't say I have a certain taste in fashion, I always vary what I wear for different occasions, for example, my casual style at the moment is generally jeans/leggings, trainers such as Nike Air Max 1 in grey and pink, white converse and blue vans, my choice in tops change a lot as I really like pretty floraly/lacey tops as wells as over-sized tees and casual tees, I also love to wear beanies for fashion . Where as, for a more dressy occasion such as shopping, meals and family occasions I like to wear pretty skirts with lacy tops tucked in along with white converse and frilly ankle socks, I think this finishes off the look.
I really hope to carry on with this blog and be consistent so I'm always open to ideas about what I should post about. Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my first ever post! Please, please, please come back again and hopefully I will have some interesting posts up!

Bye for now,
